When God's People Pray!

     Oh the Power of prayer! I know I have not blogged in a while but I promise one is coming soon! In fact check back this evening! but I just wanted to express something that has been on my heart for a while!So these last couple of Months have been crazy for me. but I wanted to stop and thank those who have stopped and prayed for me. From Family (and Church family :))to friends and everywhere in between I cant thankyou enough for all it has meant to me! Prayers from moving to Birmingham to come to a school that would ground and grow my faith! and Praise God for Southeastern Bible College and all who attend it! It has been a place that has been the biggest step of faith to the Greatest point on my life at any given day :) But the blessings I receive daily from learning more of God's word to Community the sense of belonging and knowing that God wants me here that He placed me here! For Falling down a hill and having to be on crutches for three weeks and just having hard times adjusting! For prayers for my classes and finals that will be starting Next Week!! Where does all the time go! From Home in Clay Co. And Kenya, Africa , and my new Home in Birmingham Words can not express my Gratitude!


Thanks for reading there will be a bigger blog thingy about where I am in  my life and at SEBC later this evening! BUT this was just a thought I wanted to express!

I now have Toms! and I heart them! :)







          As you can see they have elephants on them!!! which makes them awesome!!! I personally have always loved the idea of toms but didnt think they were for me untill I saw them and HAD to  have them! I had went to the website and they had expired but when I saw them at the mall  I knew it was ment to be!! :) so included in the photos above are a bracelett and a letter I recieved as well as the knowing that I help give a child a pair of shoes! This was a major bright to my week !

Seek Me



 

In my times of worries and troubles, there a still, calm voice that says seek me. I know that it is God saying "Seek Me I am right here!"
 
   This is comes from one of my favorite verses in the Bible which would be Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me and you will find Me there when you seek Me with all of your heart”.  This has been and will be my goal for my time at Southeastern. I know that God has a plan for me as He stated just two verses ahead (11) ) “ For I know the plans I have for you ,”declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans that will give you hope and a future.” But how is that future even reachable if we as Christians are not constantly and whole-heartedly seeking the Lord in every aspect of our lives.

    This leads to the hard questions like, where are we seeking God, and to what extent? Are we chasing after Him with open arms? Or are we just hoping that Christ being all that He is will meet us in our sin without us trying to make the change to repent of our sin and asking Him to do all the work. Because dear friends it doesn’t happen that way! Now I am a firm believer in the grace of Jesus, and just how amazing it is that the Grace of God meets us just where we are no matter where we are! But I am a firm believer that The Lord of all helps those who help themselves. We can pray for change all day long but if we are not doing something about it then we are missing the point and are going to stay there until an action is taken that forces us to remove that sin form our day to day and helps us seek the Lord to get through it. God can only do so much to help us that we do not bother to change than how are we seeking God and becoming closer to Him? The answer of course is that we are not.

   We are human Yes and always will be! We will never be seen clean in the eyes of the Lord but we can strive to be more like Him by chasing after Him day by day and by surrendering ourselves to die to all that we are so that daily we can be all that He has for us to be.  I was so excited to go to a service this Wednesday with new friends and it just so happened that the preacher preached on this verse and I know it was God who had me there for a reason! It was amazing! I know that this is going to be a truly rewarding yet sometimes challenging goal to seek God, not in just some things but in all things! I know that as long as I stick to the things of Philippians 4:8 “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things” I will be on the track of seeking Christ!  

   Seeking God starts from within and grows outwardly It starts in your mind and in your heart from the things that you take in (watch, listen to, and say)  to the things you put out for the world to see. When you focus on the things that God has in store for us everything else is going to fall into place! This is a something I am going to have to strive at daily! So Lord, may I be found faithful in Your eyes!  Blessings to all!

First Impressions

   Within the first three minutes of meeting someone we form at least five oppinions of them in our minds... this scares me a little...

    My first opinions of Southeastern 1.A place to grow in God as well as with other believers!
2.its going to be a ton of fun! 3. Its also going to be a ton of work to accomplish the things that i feel the Lord has called me to do! 4.Its going to be an awesome adventure and a brand new chapter in my life! and 5. Golly I hope people like me!

  If you haven't exactly met me yet you should be a little thankful! ha! for those who have rather recently or in the past you would know that I get a little excited .. wait a little too excited sometimes to meet people for the first time. especially when I am meeting several people at once! which tends to leave me feeling a little apologetic shortly there after because while I am that happy to meet them i am a much chiller person than that hah but i am excited to get to know you!

The things I am most excited about my time at SEBC is just the time I'm going to have to grow in God more as well as the time I'm going to have to get to know my community more!It really feels like a place that is going to change the world and I am more than excited to be apart of it!

I am going to be in the counseling program at SEBC and taking Mission classes This is going to be an Amazing semester!! I'm so blessed that God has brought me to SEBC and so thankful for the people that I have met , and those that i have yet to meet. I'm so grateful for everyones kindness and i cant wait to grow those relationships over time! But yet I yearn  daily to see how Gods' hand is going to move in a way I've never seen before! and I cant wait!
